Sometimes referred to as the "Red Banana Passionfruit", Passiflora antioquiensis is closely related to the Banana passionfruit but is by no means as vigorous, therefore it is more suited to small gardens. It has stunning rose-pink to red pendulous flowers are followed by long ovoid yellow fruit.
The pulp has a delicate flavour, is sweet, juicy and aromatic. The fruits takes awhile to form and mature so needs a long warm summer.
Self fertile, as with most passionfruit it needs well drained warm conditions to do well, I have mine in a tyre as the soil here is not free draining, it seems to be fine, very pretty climber with an amazing flower and delicious fruit.
